Harrow Weald is a well-established practice serving the local community, with a varied caseload and a team who are passionate about providing a high standard of patient and client care.

You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in all the usual elements of  nursing, from assisting in theatre and supporting consultations through to inpatient care, anaesthesia and making sure our patients are comfortable and well looked after.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes pride in their nursing and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

You’ll be supported by an experienced team, alongside our wider Goddard network, giving you plenty of people to turn to for advice, support and the occasional “have you seen this before?” moment.

As a branch RVN, some of your duties will include:

– Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.

– Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required.

– Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.

– Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.

– Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.

– Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.

– Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.

– Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with suppliers as required.

– Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.

– Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets.

– Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

Our RVN salary band is £32,000 to £36,000 (Based on 40 hours FTE per week), depending on experience and allowing room for growth and development within the role.

For this 20-hour-per-week position, the salary will be pro rata.

We are recruiting for an additional veterinary surgeon to join our Ewell practice on a part-time 2-day week basis, supporting a busy and growing caseload alongside an experienced clinical team. Ewell is a historic suburban village in Surrey, situated just 12 miles from Central London.

About your new role!

​Ewell is a beautifully designed clinic with an open-span prep area, walk-in kennels and a large reception area for clients. The practice is a busy GP setting with a growing caseload and a large client base.

You will work alongside an experienced senior vet, a senior RVN, RVNs and trainee nurses two days per week covering the following shifts:

As an associate vet, you will be involved in the day-to-day GP caseload, including consultations and routine surgeries. The practice is equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray and ultrasound facilities on site.

As a branch vet some of your duties will include:

​– Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations based on best practice, evidence and GVG protocols.- Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within the boundaries of personal competence and the limitation of overnight care.- Maintain, prescribe and dispense medications in accordance with current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.- Record accurate and thorough clinical notes, ensuring pets’ histories are comprehensive and useful to colleagues.- Refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, where a case cannot be undertaken for any reason.- Help maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.You will be fully supported by our experienced regional manager, as well as a regional head vet for any clinical management support you may need.

You will also be supported by the Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon for referral of more complex cases, with its own rotating night team providing your patients with invaluable out-of-hours care.

The practice has multiple local train stations nearby and is within easy reach of desirable parts of London such as Richmond and Wimbledon. London Gatwick Airport is also just a 30-minute drive from the practice.
