About the role

This is a full-time 40-hourly week role including a weekend rotation.

There are no on-call requirements!

Set in an old bank complete with original vault, Acton is well equipped with everything you would need day to day, including a new dental x-ray machine. Acton is also part of the ISFM cat friendly scheme and is proud to be involved with lots of work for the Cats Protection Charity.

You will be working alongside a fantastic support team and experienced vet who are incredibly engaged in their roles and are looking for leadership to propel the practice even further!

You will also have the full support of an experienced regional manager who has worked in the region for years and takes his role in supporting his branches incredibly seriously with the upmost dedication.

The Mandeville Veterinary Hospital in Northolt provides out of hours support for Acton. It has state of the art 24 hr facilities including CT, an excellent ultrasound, scopes, laparoscopic equipment and an array of specialists.

The practice is ideally located opposite the Elizabeth Tube Line “Lizzy Line”, which takes you straight into central London in one direction, and through to Heathrow airport in the other for those important breaks away!

About the role

This is a full-time on site Monday to Friday position with occasional management on-call requirements at weekends, to assist in urgent management phone queries. *You are not required to attend the hospital for on-call*

You will work closely with our amazing head vet who has been in Wanstead for over 10 years, as well as a passionate deputy hospital manager, head and deputy nurses, and integral hospital administrators.

This role will require leadership expertise, enthusiasm for the veterinary industry and excellent communication skills, to be able to navigate the ever changing and complex world of veterinary management, within a large hospital setting.

Our new colleague will have prior experience in a health care management setting, managing large multidisciplinary teams involving a breadth of responsibilities. Experience in veterinary practice management is preferable, although not essential if there is a strong management background.

Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

-Maintaining an atmosphere of team collaboration and mutual respect-Playing a key role in the operational and financial success of the hospital-Overseeing the general practice management including stock control, rotas, holiday and absence management-Oversee the reception team to ensure the hospital are providing exceptional client service as well as debt management, and complaint management-Support in recruitment for hospital positions, and liaising with HR where applicable-Must be able to demonstrate multi-tasking and problem solving skills at a fast pace
