Veterinary Surgeon 2020 Graduate – North West London

Are you a recent 2020 graduate who’s looking for a new challenge? We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic vet, looking to join the friendly team at Goddard Veterinary Group in our Mandeville Region, West London.

We’re looking for a vet who would like to hone their routine operating and consulting skills in a supportive environment and help develop their career in a family-owned practice known, for its excellent patient and client care. This would be ideal for someone who is looking to build on their routine skills and has already gained competency in neutering. This is a newly created role, so there is some flexibility with the rota. The role will start with working closely with our branch vets, helping them to catch up with many of the procedures that have been on hold due to Covid- 19 and will evolve into either a float position or a fixed role within the Mandeville region. It’s an exciting opportunity to work within the Goddard Veterinary Group alongside a variety of experienced clinicians.

We’re here for all patients — Mandeville Veterinary Hospital and its surrounding clinics provide an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service and work to the highest clinical standards. As a result, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to treat a wide range of patients and conditions with the support of dedicated professionals.

We’re proud of our state-of-the-art equipment — there is great diagnostic support at the hospital with a new CT scanner, a diploma holder in imaging providing our CT and ultrasound service, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.

We’re all about the team — the successful candidates will be strong team players looking to expand their experience in supportive branches and a busy hospital environment and will share our philosophy of practicing to the highest clinical standards and providing excellent client care. There would be minimal OOH duties and no nights ensuring you benefit from a work-life balance.

We’ll look after you — we offer an excellent and competitive salary including a generous CPD allowance of £2000. The Goddard Veterinary Group sees CPD as an investment in the individual, as well as for the practice, and is keen to support study for certificate qualifications. We have an excellent benefits package including increasing holiday allowance (up to 6 weeks), BUPA private health insurance as well as cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropody fees, etc, plus generous shopping & leisure discounts and our employee assistance programme. We may also be able to assist with accommodation if needed.

Goddard Veterinary Group is a family-run practice and was started in 1952 by Arthur Goddard. His son Philip took over the reins in the late ’90s and remains the practice principal. We are now the largest family-run veterinary practice in the UK and have 44 branches, 3 hospitals, and our own nursing college. We have a great reputation for looking after our staff; over 20% of our team have been with us 10 years or more and we’re really proud of our many 5* employer reviews on Indeed.
