The Rota

This is a full-time role with a 1:4 full weekend rota, 1-2 bank holidays per year.

​About your new role!

​

​Our reception team are an incredibly valued part of our hospital, as they are the first port of call for our clients, and making the best first impression rests on the shoulders of our front of house team.

​The role involves a high level of face-to-face contact with our clients, so you must have the confidence, empathy, and experience to provide the standard of care and the personal touch we expect for our clients.

​This full-time 40 hour week role is Monday to Friday, involving a rotation of early and late shifts, 1:5 Saturdays, and 1-2 bank holidays per year.

​Mandeville’s new colleague will have plenty of client care experience and thrive when conversing with people in a fast-paced environment. We want to ensure that while our clinical team support the patients’ needs, we are also able to offer a warm and friendly welcome to clients, have effective communications internally, and organise our diary so that we can provide the best advice and accurate information to our clients.

​As a veterinary receptionist, some of your duties will include:– Liaise with key hospital personnel to communicate any delays in consultation start times. – Book referral appointments using SOPs and ensure relevant information sheets are sent to clients prior to the consultation. – Offer nurse clinics to clients, where required. Clients should have the opportunity to visit for advice on pet health and welfare, to include weight, dental checks and six-monthly ProActive Pets checks. – Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding fees or anything related to patient care. – Place client food orders as requested and reserve when delivered. Put away the reception food order if required to do so. – Exercise debt control measures, as directed. – Exercise care in the handling of payments and in all financial management generally.  In particular cashing up must be accurately completed. – Process insurance claim forms, if required to do so, in an accurate and timely fashion incorporating full use of the Zeus software. – Prepare the weekly banking, if required to do so, in a secure, accurate and timely fashion.  Report shortages and overs to senior personnel, as directed. As well as a high level of face-to-face client care, there is also a large amount of phone and written communication to our clients, and these methods of communication must be treated equally as professionally.

​

​We are ideally seeking candidates with previous reception responsibilities within a veterinary or healthcare setting to join our team and can work early and late shifts. We do ask for a certain level of flexibly in the role, due to the nature of the profession.

​

​Mandeville Hospital not only has its own valued client base, but also provides the surrounding Goddard clinics with invaluable OOH care and support, creating a large pool of clients you will be liaising with.

​

​There is state of the art diagnostic support at the hospital with a new CT scanner, a diploma holder in imaging providing our CT and ultrasound service, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.

​

​If you are commuting via public transport there are ample bus services, and Northolt station on the central line is a mere 6-minute walk from the hospital. If driving, parking is available behind the hospital…a rarity for London!
