Vet Surgeon – Putney and Fulham – Full or Part-Time, Maternity Role

If you enjoy variety in your role, this two-clinic role could be ideal for you! Working four days a week, you divide your time between our Putney and Fulham practices. Our Fulham clinic is situated in a great area on The Kings Road, surrounded by cafes and gorgeous shops, and our Putney practice is a 5-minute stroll to the river Thames.

The role is a good balance between surgery and consulting and is 4 days per week with a 1 in 3 Saturday. It would work equally well as two part-time roles; perhaps 2 days with 1: 6 Saturdays? We are happy to chat about the combination of days and Saturdays that work for you. There is a blend between sole charge responsibility and working alongside experienced Veterinary Surgeons, so we are looking for a surgeon who is confident in all the routine surgeries. There is no night work or on-call.

It would be great to find a colleague who fits into our practice culture and values: putting pets and their owners at the heart of every decision. Someone who enjoys being a great GP supported by fantastic colleagues, but also relishes having a satisfying life outside of work, enjoying the West London riverside lifestyle, or the hustle and bustle of fantastic shopping and dining venues nearby.

Salary is in the region of £45,000 – £60,000 depending on experience (pro-rata for part-time roles) and we have a great benefits package including:

  • £2000 allowance and 5 days CPD annually.
  • BUPA private health insurance.
  • Simply Health which provides cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more.
  • 24hr Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Help with relocation costs up to £3000.
  • Generous shopping/leisure discounts (never pay full price in all the major shops and cinemas again!).
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Great colleague pet discount scheme.
  • Membership Scheme Allowance up to £350 per annum.
  • Colleague Introduction incentive of £2500.
  • Increasing holiday allowance (after working with us for 4 years you’ll have 6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays).
  • A1 Home Office approved sponsor; we are often able to help non-UK veterinary surgeons obtain a working visa.

Vet Surgeon – Uxbridge, West London

Most jobs say ‘Looking for a great work-life balance? ‘But this one really will deliver! Our popular Uxbridge practice is going through an exciting time, giving us the opportunity to create a rota designed especially for the vet who would love a rewarding, satisfying career but also a home life too and a chance to take advantage of the wonderful city of London!

The role includes either a Monday or Friday off every week plus one early finish and one late start every week. Three of the days you will be working with a second vet but will be sole charge on the 4th day and on some Saturday mornings, however, you will be fully supported by our RCVS accredited Tier 3 hospital in Northolt. There is no overnight work. We would love you to support our hospital colleagues on a 1:8 Sunday daytime rota only and some Saturday afternoons between 2-5pm. The Mandeville hospital has fantastic facilities including a state-of-the-art CT, excellent ultrasound, scopes, an array of specialists and provides a great place to develop your ECC skills and experience a busy hospital environment.

We have a really established clinical team; Kelly our lovely head nurse has been with the practice for over 16 years and Alana our other qualified RVN started with us after recently qualifying. We also have the help of Kitty our SVN and Rachel our VNA, who are training at our nurse college, and Debbie our receptionist who has worked at the practice for 23 years.

We have all the usual toys in order to work your cases up to a high standard, including a dental x-ray and a new ultrasound. There is also the caseload to undertake a certificate at Uxbridge and this would be fully supported.

Our Uxbridge branch has been at this location for many years and is extremely popular within the local community. Situated in a residential conservation area close to the town centre with all the shops you could wish for. With excellent transport links with the M25/M40 and Heathrow Airport a short distance away plus regular tube services into central London.

We are looking for a clinician who can fit into our practice culture and values and just enjoy being a great GP. Are you a good communicator who fits well into a team? Would you relish helping to advance our standards of care? Are you able to build trusting relationships easily? Can you manage your time, prioritise well, and do you enjoy getting the job done but also relish having a life outside of work?

The salary range is around £35-65k depending on experience. Accommodation is also available if needed. In addition, we offer a £2000 and 5-day CPD allowance. We see CPD as an investment in the individual and the practice and are keen to support study for certificate qualifications.

  • Increasing holiday allowance (after working with us for 4 years you’ll have 6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays)
  • BUPA private health insurance
  • Simplyhealth plan which provides cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more.

Part-Time Float Theatre Nurse (RVN) – Greater London

Do you love surgical nursing? Are you looking to work part-time around other commitments? If so, this could be the role for you! With the growth in patient numbers and a greater surgical caseload in our clinics, we are looking for dedicated RVN’s who would like to focus primarily on the surgical caseload.

The role will see you supporting vets and clinical teams across a small group of clinics focusing on; pre-op diagnostics such as blood tests, preparing theatre for surgery, monitoring anaesthetics, recording surgical information, patient recovery, and monitoring (with the help of the team), preparing for patient discharge and some emergency triage. You will also have responsibility for assisting with pets admitted for monitoring, diagnostic testing, or treatment of chronic conditions.

  • This role is Monday to Friday, potentially 9am-3pm (there is some flexibility on either side to fit in with any other commitments). We understand that not everyone wants the same thing, so as this role has a large element of flexibility, we are keen to talk informally to RVN’s and discuss what might work for you and us.
  • This would suit an experienced RVN with theatre experience, who has an organised and methodical approach, but with the ability to adapt if the clinical situation changes, someone with previous experience with in-patient care, in diagnostics such as x-ray and dental x-ray, the ability to engage and communicate with a team to ensure the smooth running of theatre, and flexibility for travel within a limited geographical area.
  • The salary range £23,000-£32,000 depending on experience (pro-rata for part-time roles) In addition, we offer paid CPD- with 2-days or 3 -part days CPD allowance. • Simplyhealth plans to provide cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more
  • 24hr Employee Assistance Programme
  • Generous shopping/leisure discounts (never pay full price in all the major shops and cinemas again!)

  • Paid BVNA membership, RCVS, and VDS fees
  • Colleague Introduction incentive of £1500

  • ‘Friendly, supportive, flexible, Goddards have always been there for me to celebrate the good times (qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse which they put me through my training for) and supportive /listening to me through difficult times (whether personal or work related). Extensive, up-to-date equipment to provide gold standard care for all animals and a very well put together team of Vets, Nurses and VCAs to care for the animals. Everyone works as a team; everyone has a voice and can help make changes /improvements if required. I have never felt so at home whilst at work. I have not closed the door to Goddards, for now, I need to change jobs for my own reasons, I hope to be back at Goddards one day. Fair pay, flexible hours (always consider individual needs) and everyone treated as an equal. Vet Surgeons (Float) – Greater London, flexible role

Love the variety and flexibility of locuming but not the paperwork or lack of benefits? We have the perfect role for you in our forward-thinking independent family-run veterinary practice. We are looking for experienced veterinary surgeons to join our team and float in either West London, East London, or SW London. We don’t expect people to cover huge areas, and you will work closely with the locum coordinator teams to work out which clinics are accessible to you.

This is a very flexible position and would suit full or part-time work and allows much more flexibility than a set clinic role. For example, we have had vets who have combined the float role with volunteering abroad. We’re happy to talk to you about rotas that would work for your individual needs. This is also a role that could also work as a short-term contract, allowing you to use London as a base when travel reopens and combine other interests.

The role allows you to experience different environments from RCVS accredited hospitals with an array of specialists to multi vet and small sole charge clinics. So why join the team instead of locuming? We can provide job security, a regular fixed monthly income which can be supplemented if you would like to do extra shifts; fantastic hospital experience and you can plan your weekends well in advance. No filling in tax returns and you don’t have to worry about IR35 or having to set up a limited or an umbrella company.

There is a competitive salary, dependent on experience. In addition, we offer a £2000 and 5-day CPD allowance. We see CPD as an investment in the individual and the practice and is keen to support study for certificate qualifications.

We have a great benefits package including:

  • Increasing holiday allowance (after working with us for 4 years you’ll have 6 weeks holiday plus bank holidays).
  • BUPA private health insurance
  • Simply Health which provides cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more

  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Great colleague pet discount scheme
  • Membership Scheme Allowance up to £350 per annum
  • Colleague Introduction incentive of £1500
  • Accommodation is available if needed in some of our regions
