Our team in Hayes have gone from strength to strength over recent years. With client numbers booming we now require an additional RVN on a part-time basis to help support with the growing GP workload.

​About your new role!

​

​The Hayes practice has been a firm fixture in the local community for decades. It has continued to grow in popularity, and we now require an additional RVN to step in and lend this hard-working team a welcome hand!

​

​This is a 2-day week role on Thursdays and Fridays (8-hour shifts) and includes a 1:3 Saturday rotation between Hayes and Uxbridge, and 1:10 Sundays working alongside the Mandeville Hospital team, plus 1 bank holiday per year.

​

If you were looking for full-time, we can explore a split role working Mondays and Tuesdays at another nearby practice.

​

​There are NO on-call requirements for this position.

​

​This position would also suit a newly qualified RVN due to the support in the practice.

​

​As a branch RVN some of your duties will include:– Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care. – Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required. – Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records. – Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care. – Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients. – Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use. – Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with our suppliers to required levels as necessary. – Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training. – Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets, in person, by email and over the telephone. – Support student nurses and VCA’s as a clinical supervisor.

​The practice itself boasts 2 consult rooms, a large bright theatre and prep area, and digital and dental x-ray. The practice also comes with a designated colleague area for those invaluable breaks.

​

​You will be supported by an incredibly experienced team including our part-time senior vet, associate vet, senior RVN, trainee nurses and reception team. We are also recruiting for an additional part-time vet due to increased workload.

​

​Goddard Mandeville Veterinary Hospital in Northolt provides Hayes with its OOH care and support with any complex cases you may need to refer.

​

​If you are new to the area, Hayes is in the heart of a popular suburb of West London with ample green space, a friendly community and plenty of train stations to get you across the city such as Hayes & Harlington which is on the shiny new Elizabeth Line.

Putney and Fulham are two of our popular GP clinics based in beautiful Southwest London, just over the river from each other, and the teams are looking for a part-time vet to support them both in their day-to-day first opinion caseload.

​About your new role!

​

​The rota for this sole charge 3-day week position is Mondays and Thursdays in Putney, and Fridays in Fulham. This will provide the practice, team and clients with weekly consistency on the senior vets’ days off.

​

​Your rota also includes a 1:3 branch Saturday and 1:10 hospital Sunday rotation, plus 1 bank holiday per year. There are NO on-call requirements.

​

​Our Putney team currently includes 1 associate vet (who has absolutely hit the ground running since starting!) and fantastic clinical support team who have a passion for building strong bonds with their established client base and providing exemplary patient care.

​

​We are going through a new era in Putney and are also recruiting for a senior RVN so you will have a blank page of a practice to build up as a new team. In Fulham you will be supported by an established support team who have trained through the practice and have a genuine bond with their clients.

​As a branch vet vet some of your duties will include (shared with your senior RVN):

​

– Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols. – Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and limitation of overnight care. – Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.  – Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure that pets’ histories are accurate comprehensive and useful to colleagues. – Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, when there is an inability to undertake a case for whatever reason. – Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Work alongside your RVN to ensure branch meetings are scheduled and the clinics SOP’s are being actioned- Oversee the consulting and surgical/diagnostic diary in compliance with company policies.

​The clients at Putney and Fulham are amazing, incredibly bonded to the team and are largely insured.

​

​If you have a keen interest in diagnostic imaging, we have recently procured ultrasound facilities at Putney, while both have digital and dental x-ray as standard.

​

​You will be fully supported by a dedicated regional manager, and our 24-hour Stone Lion hospital that is just a 15-minute drive away, where you can refer more complex cases, and who also provide our OOH services.

​

​You will also have additional clinical support from our integral regional head vet Julie, who has a wealth of clinical and management knowledge to pass on.

​

​Our Putney practice location has a true London ‘village’ atmosphere, just a short walk from the River Thames, Putney High Street, and Putney Station.

​

The location of Fulham is again ideal, within a 7-minute walk from Fulham Broadway station which is on the District Line, and takes you as far west as Ealing, through East London and over to Essex.

​

In both locations you are sandwiched between some of the most picturesque and vibrant areas of London, with Battersea PowerStation home to a plethora of restaurants and shopping spots to your right, and stunning Richmond full of riverside pubs, and Richmond Park to the left…Fenton!! IYKYK…

​About your new role!

​

​This full-time (40 hours per week) senior RVN position would be IDEAL for an experienced RVN who thrives in the surgical setting, and wants to take the reins of our 4 theatres in the hospital, ensuring they are running efficiently and to the highest standard.

​

​This role can be either 4 or 5 days per week and includes a 1:6 weekend rotation with TOIL and 2 bank holidays per year. You will be included in the last resort on-call rotation, every 1:10 weeks.

​

​As senior theatre RVN some of your duties will include:– GA sheet audits- Pre-GA check list audits- GA and theatre training- Keeping set up folders up to date- Ensuring surgical kits are maintained and training of equipment- Organising the theatre day- GA troubleshooting- Ordering medical air- Maintaining stock for surgery- Providing ventilator and Ethylene oxide training- Theatre SOP’s- Providing endoscope training- Scope maintenance- Providing in house CPD- Attending and contributing to leadership meetings- Assist in covering Charge Nurse when neededWanstead not only has its own first opinion client base but also sees the internal referral cases from the surrounding branches in East, North and Central London, giving you a plethora of diverse surgical cases.

​There is fantastic diagnostic support at Wanstead, with a CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery on site.

​

​You will be working alongside a large team consisting of approximately 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a large front of house team who are integral in maintaining excellent client care.

​

​Wanstead has an extensive onsite management structure including 2 deputy head nurses, head nurse, head vet and hospital manager, so you will have ample support around you while settling into your new position.

​

​Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of urban Essex but is close enough to rural life for that countryside relief. Transport links into London do not get better than a short walk to a Central Line tube station!

​

​Please be aware there is no on-site parking available and public transport is advised.

​

This could be a fantastic opportunity for an experienced RVN who knows their way around a theatre, and wants to gain leadership experience to then take-away and utilise for future senior positions.

​About your new role!

​

​Working between 2 very different practices (not on the same day) you will be providing consistency to our clients and teams week in week out.

​

The rota for this split sole charge role consists of Wednesdays in Croydon, Thursdays and Fridays in New Addington, then 1:4 and 1:10 Mondays in Croydon. Inclusive of the 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Stone Lion Sunday rotation the average weekly hours total is 36.7 per week. There can also be variations if you wished to have an early finish once a week, or additional hours to achieve 40 hours per week.

You will be rota ‘d to 1-2 bank holidays per year in Stone Lion, and there are NO on-call requirements.

​

Both sites have their own nuance’s, and you will be fully supported in both with experienced support colleagues who have worked in their respective branches for years.

​You will have full clinical support from Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon, for any complex referrals you may need to make, and OOH care for your patients.

​

​You also have the support from a dedicated regional manager, and regional head vet who has a wealth of knowledge to pass on and can support you in your clinical management needs.

​

​This is a sole charge position, and you will be comfortable with routine GP consultations and surgery, but ample support is provided by management in the region.

​

​Being south of the river, you are ideally located near idyllic Kingston Upon Thames. New Addington is a stone’s throw 2-minute walk from the tram link, and Croydon an 8-minute walk from the tram, where you can pick up other lines to get across the city.
