VA410 – Kingston – Veterinary Surgeon

Welcome to Kingston! This historic market town which used to crown Saxon kings, is now looking to crown a veterinary surgeon, to be monarch of Goddard Kingston!  Before we delve into the nitty gritty, here is what we offer you: The salary for this sole charge position inclusive of weekend rotation is £57,000 to £73,000 FTE depending on prior experience and allowing room for growth within the role. We can offer flexibility in this role, working either full-time in Kingston, or part-time between Kingston and Ham, we are open to options! You will be fully supported by an experienced RVN and passionate trainee nurse, as well as your regional manager who is integral in the running of the region and there for additional support. Although sole charge, we also have our fantastic and incredibly experienced regional head vet, for any clinical support you may need. Kingston is also supported by Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon, for more complex cases, or OOH care your patients may need. The practice is just a 6-minute walk from Norbiton train station, and within a 50-minute journey you are in central London. You are also a 10-minute walk from the famous picturesque Richmond Park, and the River Thames. Kingston upon Thames really is a gem for anyone thinking about relocating. Before we delve into the nitty gritty, here is what we offer you: The salary band for this 3-day week position inclusive of weekend rotation is £48,195 to £63,495 (£63,000 to £83,000 FTE) depending on prior experience, and development within the role. Our Putney practice location has a true London ‘village’ feel, just a short walk from the River Thames, Putney High Street, and Putney Station. It is situated at the end of a beautiful Victorian high street with a true café culture atmosphere. The clients at Putney are amazing, incredibly bonded to the team and are largely insured. You will be fully supported by a dedicated regional manager, and our 24-hour Stone Lion hospital that is just a 15-minute drive away, where you can refer more complex cases, and who also provide our OOH services. You will also have additional clinical support from our integral regional head vet Julie, who has a wealth of clinical and management knowledge to pass on. The clinic has undergone a refurbishment in recent years and has all the equipment you could need. The rota involves a Monday to Wednesday working week, plus 1:4 branch Saturdays,1:8 hospital Sundays and up to 2 bank holidays per year. We are looking for a future colleague who enjoys working in a busier GP environment and is comfortable with routine surgery and dentals due to the high caseload at Walthamstow. You will be fully supported by a full-time senior vet, senior RVN, incredibly passionate trainee nurses and a regional manager whose support is invaluable to her region. Walthamstow is also fully supported by Wanstead Veterinary Hospital for more complex cases and OOH. It has extensive 24 -hr facilities including CT, an excellent ultrasound, scopes, laparoscopic equipment, and an array of specialists and provides a good environment to develop your ECC skills.  The practice itself is situated in an ideal location if you want to base yourself in a village/high street environment but want easy access into the hustle and bustle.
