One of our fabulous night vets will be starting their parenting journey in the new year, and we are looking for a competent ECC vet to take the reins on nights for a fixed 12-month period, in our Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon.About your new role!Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital offers a well-rounded caseload of routine procedures, emergency, and critical care, as it not only has its own first opinion client base, but also supports the surrounding Goddard practices for internal referral cases that require hospital expertise.The hospital also provides specialist work with an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, cardiologist, and physiotherapist, giving you peace of mind knowing you can refer any admitted night patients that may require more specialist treatment to your in-house day team.Our new night colleague will be no stranger to sole charge night shifts, having ideally worked in the ECC environment before and is confident in managing ward cases and emergency surgeries that may arise during the night. Along with your RVN, you will provide exemplary care to your patients when admitted for their hospital sleepovers.You will work alongside an experienced on-site registered veterinary nurse for your waking night shifts and will have support from the clinical management team if you needed to contact during the day for any queries.Stone Lion is located in the heart of picturesque Wimbledon Village, just a 10-minute walk from Wimbledon Junction station which is on the district line and enables you to get to all the hot spots of London!

VA485 – Orthopaedic Registered Veterinary Nurse

Welcome to Wanstead Veterinary Hospital! Our largest 24-hour hospital in the group is looking for an RVN who thrives and excels in the theatre environment, and is looking to step into an orthopaedic nurse role.About your new role!This full-time (40 hours per week) RVN position would be IDEAL for an RVN who thrives in theatre, particularly when assisting in orthopaedic surgeries.Your rota will include an average of 1:4 weekends with TOIL and up to 3 bank holidays per year, plus a last resort on-call rotation. You will be rota ‘d to the same shifts as our orthopaedic surgeon, to aid an efficient and streamlined patient journey. When our surgeon is not operating, you will help support other areas of theatre.This role would suit an RVN who has always felt the theatre was their comfort zone, and orthopaedics are an area of interest and expertise.

There is fantastic diagnostic support at Wanstead, with a CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all on site.You will be working alongside a large team consisting of approximately 24 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a large front of house team who are integral in maintaining excellent client care.

​In terms of support, you will have a senior theatre RVN who you will work with to ensure theatre protocols are being maintained and continually advanced, as well as two deputy head nurses, head nurse and hospital manager who originally trained through us and has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience.

As Wanstead is our largest hospital in the group, this brings with it ample training opportunities, but also development and encouraging internal progression, as a large number of our nurses have worked up to senior, deputy and head positions over the years.

There may also be opportunity to explore a Theatre Lead role in the new year if you wished to dip your toe in a senior role, which would of course also come with an enhanced salary for additional leadership duties.

About your new role!Wanstead are looking for a veterinary surgeon who is wanting to grab the opportunity to step into this full-time GP role at Wanstead Hospital in East London.The team are looking for a competent GP vet who is able to jump straight in with routine surgeries, including bitch spays and dentals, and be able to manage emergency cases. With a high imaging caseload this would be the perfect role for a GP vet with a passion for diagnostic imaging, to either utilise their existing skills, or develop on their area of interest.Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service to our clients and local network of 20 branches and works to the highest clinical standards.There is state of the art diagnostic support, with a CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.You will be fully supported by a team of experienced hospital vets including a senior medic/ECC and GP vet, our incredible nursing team made up of experienced RVN’s, students, nursing assistants and front of house team, as well as on site clinical managers.Your rota will be on a 6 weekly rotational basis made up of an average of 40 hours per week, inclusive of your 1:3 Saturday and 1:6 Sunday weekend rotation. This will enable you to work within all departments of the hospital, ranging across consulting, surgery, ward and ECC. You will be rota ‘d to up to 2 bank holidays per year and be included in the last resort on-call rotation.Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of urban Essex but is close enough to rural life for that countryside relief. Transport links into London do not get better than a short walk to a Central Line tube station!
