This lovely practice in West London has just had a role open for an RVN, on a full-time basis.About your new role!Situated in a popular family area in West London, the client base at Eastcote is established, due to many of them being bonded via our health care plan.You will be part of a settled team, including our lead vet who has been with Goddard Vet Group for over 12 years.Eastcote is also a training practice for our future RVN colleagues, and you will be instrumental in the guidance and support through-out their studies (which are provided via our own Training College). As the sole RVN in practice, there will be additional accountabilities which have been reflected in a higher RVN salary band.

As a sole RVN, leadership training can also be provided, and you will work closely with your vet to ensure the practice is running as smoothly as possible (though we know there are “those days”!)

We have a gem of a role for a highly experienced and client focused call handler, to be the first port of call for our valued clients contacting our Client Support Centre on behalf of their beloved pets, on a part-time basis.

About your new role!

We have 49 sites across London including 3 hospitals, and with growing client numbers over the years our Client Support Centre was created to ease the load of communication for our sites and provide a more efficient service for our clients.

​Our Client Support Centre offers our clients an easier way to access vets and nurses’ services by telephone and video consultations.

​The support centre is situated in our main office in Woodford, where you will work onsite with a team of 12 colleagues plus clinical management for support, to assist in any medical queries you may receive.

As a Client Support Call Handler some of your duties will include:– Speaking to clients to triage unwell pets, liaising with our branches and book appointments appropriately.- Dealing with enquiries and appointment requests through our online chat system.- Promote products and services such as microchipping, diets, ProActive Pets and insurance to clients, making recommendations for suitable products and services offered by the Group according to client/patient need identified during call handling.- Schedule the proactive calling of clients whose pets vaccination status has lapsed, encouraging uptake of a new course of vaccinations.- Issue invoices to clients as necessary.- Enter and maintain accurate pet and client details onto internal computer system that enables the practice to contact and communicate reliably with clients.- Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding treatment options or anything related to patient care.- Receive and communicate to practice colleagues in a timely manner, messages regarding matters that cannot be attended to by the call handling team, including but not limited to requests for repeat prescriptions, food orders, and telephone call backs.

Welcome to Wanstead Hospital! One of our amazing nurses is stepping into a night role at the hospital, resulting in a day RVN position at our impressive 24-hour site in East London.

About your new role!

This full-time (40 hours per week over 5 days) RVN position would be IDEAL for an experienced RVN who already has a couple of years under their belt, or for a new RVN who has trained in a hospital environment, and thrives in all departments within a GP hospital setting and wants to opportunity to work between the various departments in the hospital including theatre, ward, consults and ECC.

Do not be concerned if you feel you excel in one department as oppose to another, if there are any gaps in training we will be happy to support you, whether that be in ward or consult nursing, or more! If in the future you wished to develop your skills to step into a senior role, we also provide leadership training.

Wanstead not only has its own first opinion client base but also sees the internal referral cases from the surrounding branches in East, North and Central London, giving you a plethora of diverse cases a hospital RVN could dream of.

​There is fantastic diagnostic support at Wanstead, with a CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery on site.

​You will be working alongside a large team consisting of approximately 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a large front of house team who are integral in maintaining excellent client care.

​You are fully supported by an established management structure including senior RVN’s, 2 deputy head nurses, head nurse, head vet and hospital manager.

As a hospital RVN some of your duties will include:– Carry out acting weekend Charge Nurse duties, as directed.- Advise clients of post-operative discharge instructions, verbally and with print-outs and appropriate literature as directed. Ensure that correct medications are provided.- Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding fees, treatment options or anything related to patient care.- Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.- Carry out duties in accordance with shift guidance notes.- Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.- Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre, with inpatient examinations and procedures and during consultations, as and when required.- Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, using standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all areas.

Your rota will include a 1:4 weekend rotation with TOIL and up to 3 bank holidays per year. You will be included in the last resort on-call rotation, but with 2 RVN’s and 1 VCA on shift each night this is very much last resort!

Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of urban Essex but is close enough to rural life for that countryside relief. Transport links into London do not get better than a short walk to a Central Line tube station!

About your new role!

On the outskirts of urban Essex, and within a 10-minute drive of beautiful and bustling Wanstead is our first opinion GP Barking practice, where they are looking for an RVN to complete the team on a 3-day week basis. If you were only looking for 2 days, this can be explored, with Friday being the mandatory day.

This up to 3-day week role between Wednesday to Friday (8 hours per day) includes a 1:2 branch Saturday afternoon and 1:10 Sunday rotation in Wanstead Hospital. You will be rota ‘d to 1 bank holiday per year.

As a sole charge branch RVN some of your duties will include:– Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols. – Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and limitation of overnight care. – Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.  – Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure that pets’ histories are accurate comprehensive and useful to colleagues. – Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, when there is an inability to undertake a case for whatever reason. – Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Work alongside your RVN to ensure branch meetings are scheduled and the clinics SOP’s are being actioned- Oversee the consulting and surgical/diagnostic diary in compliance with company policies.You will have the full support from your established trainee nurse, regional manager and regional head vet for any additional operational and clinical support you may need.

This is a sole charge position, and we are looking for a vet who can confidently provide a full GP service. Having a bias in surgery and dentals would be a bonus for the branch due to its caseload! In addition to digital x-ray, the practice is also equipped with dental x-ray to aid in your oral cases.
