Chingford Kennels and the Olympic Games

Our staff at Chingford have enjoyed their busiest and most important Summer ever.  Apart from the usual care of pets while clients were on holiday the Kennels was host to the many hundreds of Police specialist search dogs - 'sniffers'.  Over a period of two months including the build-up and then the Olympics followed by the Paralympics we operated our kennels 24 hours a day with arrivals and departures of dogs going on duty around the clock.

Most of the dogs were spaniels and they quickly became favourties with the kennel staff who loved the appeal of the work and who rose to the challenge magnificently.

At the end of the Games the Police were most grateful for the care and dedication displayed by the staff that assisted the dogs to settle and be comfortable when off duty.  This helped in the provision of a level of security at all the Olympic venues which kept us all safe.
