VA567 – Veterinary Surgeon

To coin the British phrase “hodgepodge” meaning a jumble of things, we have a hodgepodge of a role that would suit a confident GP vet who likes to work between different environments, while still having a level of consistency in their rota.

About your new role!

Working between 2 very different practices (not on the same day) you will be providing consistency to our clients and teams week in week out.

The rota for this split sole charge role consists of Wednesdays in Croydon, Thursdays and Fridays in New Addington, then 1:4 and 1:10 Mondays in Croydon. Inclusive of the 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Stone Lion Sunday rotation the average weekly hours total is 36.7 per week. There can also be variations if you wished to have an early finish once a week, or additional hours to achieve 40 hours per week.

You will be rota ‘d to 1-2 bank holidays per year in Stone Lion, and there are NO on-call requirements.

Both sites have their own nuance’s, and you will be fully supported in both with experienced support colleagues who have worked in their respective branches for years.

As a sole charge branch vet some of your duties will include:– Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols. – Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and limitation of overnight care. – Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance. – Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure that pets’ histories are accurate comprehensive and useful to colleagues. – Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, when there is an inability to undertake a case for whatever reason. – Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Work alongside your RVN to ensure branch meetings are scheduled and the clinics SOP’s are being actioned- Oversee the consulting and surgical/diagnostic diary in compliance with company policies.

You will have full clinical support from Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon, for any complex referrals you may need to make, and OOH care for your patients.

You also have the support from a dedicated regional manager, and regional head vet who has a wealth of knowledge to pass on and can support you in your clinical management needs.

This is a sole charge position, and you will be comfortable with routine GP consultations and surgery, but ample support is provided by management in the region.

Being south of the river, you are ideally located near idyllic Kingston Upon Thames. New Addington is a stone’s throw 2-minute walk from the tram link, and Croydon an 8-minute walk from the tram, where you can pick up other lines to get across the city.

Our sole charge salary band is £60,000 to £90,000 (FTE – this will be pro-rata’ d down if less than 40 hours) dependent on prior experience and allowing room for further growth and personal progression within the role.

In this riverside London village nestled in Southwest London, home to the starting point of the annual Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race is our popular first opinion GP Putney clinic. The almost complete team are looking for a full-time Senior RVN to help assist in boosting this practice to its full potential!

About your new role!Our Putney practice location has a true London ‘village’ atmosphere, just a short walk from the River Thames, Putney High Street, and Putney Station.Our Putney team includes 2 part-time vets, and fantastic clinical support team who have a passion for building strong bonds with their established client base, so the team are looking for a Senior RVN to complete our perfect Putney practice puzzle!Being senior RVN, you will work closely with your vets to ensure the day to day running of the practice is maintained to a high standard, accountabilities ranging from diary management to equipment maintenance and team engagement.You will have the full support from a dedicated regional manager, and OOH care is provided by our Stone Lion 24-hour hospital just a 15–30-minute drive away.Feedback from the team in Putney expresses how genuinely great their client base is in the area, and as a bonus are largely insured!Your 40 hours (which can be across 4 days) is inclusive of a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Sunday rotation at the Stone Lion Hospital, plus 1 bank holiday per year at Stone Lion. This established practice in South London is looking for a confident GP vet wishing to settle and make their mark.About your new role!Our new team member will be confident in day-to-day GP sole charge practice life, working alongside an RVN who we are currently recruiting for, and a fantastic trainee nurse who knows the practice inside-out.This is a 4-day week role (Thursdays off) and includes a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 hospital Sunday rotation, and 1-2 bank holidays per year.There are NO on-call requirements for this position.The Brixton practice is looking for a vet to settle in and re-establish a close-knit client base, performing first opinion consultations and routine surgeries. Location wise, Brixton is within 20 minutes of what I like to call the south-west sister triangle.
