Hackney East London, famed for being a creative and cultural hub of London, bustling markets, green spaces with plenty of pubs, and Goddard Vet Group’s busiest practice in the group that is looking for an additional RVN to join their team.About your new role!One of our fabulous RVN’s is off on their travels, and this has created a position for an experienced RVN looking for either full or part-time hours and is no stranger to a busy environment, who may thrive in the pace of a hospital, but loves the environment of a branch.Our Hackney practice is one of our busiest in the group, and they now work closely with our predominantly consult only clinic in Highbury to support them with their advanced surgical cases. This busy and diverse “mini hub” is continuously looking at further investment to help support its expansive and varied caseload and now has a new ultrasound machine.The practice boasts two consulting rooms, a large prep and theatre area, separate cat and dog wards and a well utilised lab area.
As a full-time position, the 40-hours per week is inclusive of a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Wanstead Hospital Sunday rotation. In addition to 1 bank holiday per year at Wanstead Hospital.You will be working alongside a large support team of vets, senior RVN, RVN’s and trainee nurses. The team thrive on their unique dynamic for laughter and pulling together on those challenging days!
As a branch RVN some of your duties will include:
– Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care. – Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required. – Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records. – Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care. – Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients. – Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use. – Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with our suppliers to required levels as necessary. – Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training. – Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets, in person, by email and over the telephone. – Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor Hackney is supported by Wanstead 24-hour Veterinary Hospital, where your patients will receive impeccable OOH and specialist care when needed.You will also be fully supported by a dedicated regional manager.Location wise, you are just a 6-minute hop and skip away from London Fields Overground station, which takes you all over North and East London, with connections enabling you to reach further out.Now let’s get to the nitty gritty, here is what we offer you:The salary band for this role inclusive of weekend hours is £32,000 to £35,000 FTE (full-time equivalent) depending on prior experience.A little snippet of the benefits you will receive as a Goddard RVN:– 6.6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata if part-time)- CPD budget every year plus up to 2 days’ paid CPD leave- Paid 30-minute lunch breaks-The opportunity to join our private medical healthcare scheme at a reduced rate, plus medical cashback incentivesIf you can see yourself in this role press apply now, and within 60 seconds your application will be with our recruitment manager Rose.
