Welcome to Highbury! Nestled in a popular and attractive area in London near Islington, and adjacent to Canonbury over ground station is our little GP Highbury clinic that has been a constant beating heart in the community for years.

​This established practice is looking for a charismatic sole charge vet to charm our Highbury clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional first opinion care on a 4-day week basis.

About your new role!

​Highbury has a strong bond with their clients, and we are looking for a vet who can continue this relationship in this GP role, performing first opinion consults and minor surgeries, with the triage of emergencies when applicable.

​Highbury would be ideal for a confident vet happy in a sole charge position with a consult focused diary, who is looking for a long-term role they can settle in and play an integral part in the local community.

The rota involves Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, plus a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:8 Wanstead Hospital Sunday rotation, and up to 2 bank holiday’s per year. You will be included in the last resort on-call rotation for the region…emphasis on last resort!

As a sole charge branch vet some of your duties will include:– Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols. – Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and limitation of overnight care. – Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.  – Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure that pets’ histories are accurate comprehensive and useful to colleagues. – Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, when there is an inability to undertake a case for whatever reason. – Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Work alongside your RVN to ensure branch meetings are scheduled and the clinics SOP’s are being actioned- Oversee the consulting and surgical/diagnostic diary in compliance with company policies.

​As well as an exceptionally experienced support colleague, you will also be fully supported by a dedicated regional manager, and incredibly experienced regional head vet.

​You will also have the addition of support from the nearby “mini hub” Hackney practice and Wanstead 24-hour Hospital, for more complex cases, surgeries and OOH care for your patients.

About your new role!

​Our Kingston practice situated in a beautiful period building is looking for a vet to join and take the reins of this established GP practice, complete with dental and digital x-ray.

​You will be fully supported by an experienced RVN and passionate trainee nurse, as well as your regional manager who is integral in the running of the region and there for additional support.

The caseload is perfectly manageable for a GP first opinion vet to step into this sole charge role. You will be able to comfortably balance your morning consultations, perform routine surgeries during the day, catch up on admin and then round up with evening consults. You will also have the support of a highly experienced regional head vet for any clinical queries or concerns you may have.

​Kingston is also supported by Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon, for more complex cases, or OOH care your patients may need.

This 4-day week role (Wednesdays off) involves a 1:4 Saturday rotation, and 1:10 Sundays at Stone Lion Hospital. You will be rota ‘d to up to 2 bank holidays per year in Stone Lion, and there are NO on-call requirements.

About your new role!

​In the bustling heart of popular East London is this hugely popular first opinion practice that is looking for an additional vet, to work alongside their incredible senior vet.

The rota can offer flexibility with a 30–40-hour weekly option, which is inclusive of a 1:4 branch run Saturday and 1:8 hospital Sunday rotation. You will be rota ‘d to up to 2 bank holidays per year and be included in the last resort on-call and twilight rotation for the Wanstead Hospital.

Included in your initial induction period is also a hospital induction day to get to grips with hospital working before your first hospital shift.

​We are looking for a future colleague who enjoys working in a busier GP environment and is comfortable with routine surgery and dentals, although you will have ample support from your senior vet who loves to teach.

It has extensive 24 -hr facilities including CT, an excellent ultrasound, scopes, laparoscopic equipment, and an array of specialists and provides a good environment to develop your ECC skills on your Sundays.

​The practice itself is smack bang in the middle between West Ham Park and Stratford, and a short 8-minute walk from the nearest train station (DLR) to take you all over London and into Essex.
