Our recruitment manager Rose will be starting her parenting adventure in the summer…with twins…so quite an adventure! This has resulted in the need for a 12-month fixed term maternity cover role commencing this summer, to manage the recruitment for the group.

About the role

Goddard Vet Group has 49 sites including 3 hospitals, spanning across London, Essex and Surrey, with almost 500 colleagues. With the veterinary industry being as dynamic as it is, our recruitment manager must work quickly and effectively in managing vacancies that arise, and ensure a thorough process is being conducted.

This fixed term maternity cover position is full-time Monday to Friday, based in our office in Woodford, with hybrid working options available.

As Recruitment Manager some of your duties will include:– Lead end to end recruitment for permanent clinical, operational, and student roles across the Goddard Training College.- Partner with Hiring Managers to understand needs, advise on salary bands, and deliver effective recruitment strategies.- Collaborate with the locum coordination team on updates relating to permanent hires.- Maximise direct sourcing channels including LinkedIn, company websites, job boards, and industry platforms.- Represent GVG at careers fairs and trade events to promote the organisation as an employer of choice.- Work closely with Regional and Hospital Managers to align recruitment activity with approved budgets.- Provide regular vacancy and recruitment performance reports to the Managing Director, including time to hire metrics.- Screen CVs, conduct initial candidate calls, coordinate interviews, and ensure a smooth, timely hiring process.- Prepare offer letters and manage onboarding documentation in partnership with HR.- Maintain communication with new starters through pre start engagement and a 4 week post start check in.- Manage induction information and ensure accurate record keeping across shared systems.- Oversee visa processes in line with UK immigration regulations.- Handle recruitment administration including interview notes, reference collection, and ATS management.- Maintain strong agency relationships, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, and process agency invoices.- Write and publish job adverts across relevant platforms.

Who we are looking for:While having prior experience in end-to-end recruitment process’ in a medical setting would be ideal, we are also open to applicants from a veterinary background, who may want to step away from clinical duties for a set period, to learn new skills in a different department but can impart their industry knowledge into the role when looking for new recruits.

VA595 – Veterinary Client Support Centre Call Handler

We have a gem of a role for two highly experienced and client focused call handlers, to be the first port of call for our valued clients contacting our Client Support Centre on behalf of their beloved pets, on a part-time basis.

About your new role!

We have 49 sites across London including 3 hospitals, and with growing client numbers over the years our Client Support Centre was created to ease the load of communication for our sites and provide a more efficient service for our clients.

​Our Client Support Centre offers our clients an easier way to access vets and nurses’ services by telephone and video consultations.

​The support centre is situated in our main office in Woodford, where you will work onsite with a team of 12 colleagues plus clinical management for support, to assist in any medical queries you may receive.

We have 2 positions available:

Position 1) 30 hours per week Monday to Friday with varying shifts; 8am-2pm, 9am-3pm and 11am-5pm. There are no weekend or bank holiday requirements.

Position 2) 32 hours per week over 4 days. No weekend or bank holiday requirements.

As a Client Support Call Handler some of your duties will include:– Speaking to clients to triage unwell pets, liaising with our branches and book appointments appropriately.- Dealing with enquiries and appointment requests through our online chat system.- Promote products and services such as microchipping, diets, ProActive Pets and insurance to clients, making recommendations for suitable products and services offered by the Group according to client/patient need identified during call handling.- Schedule the proactive calling of clients whose pets vaccination status has lapsed, encouraging uptake of a new course of vaccinations.- Issue invoices to clients as necessary.- Enter and maintain accurate pet and client details onto internal computer system that enables the practice to contact and communicate reliably with clients.- Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding treatment options or anything related to patient care.- Receive and communicate to practice colleagues in a timely manner, messages regarding matters that cannot be attended to by the call handling team, including but not limited to requests for repeat prescriptions, food orders, and telephone call backs.

Our fabulous Client Support Centre manager will be off on her parenting adventure in the summer, creating a 12–18 month fixed term maternity cover position for a veterinary surgeon looking to take the reins of our veterinary Client Support Centre.

We have 49 sites across London including 3 hospitals, and with growing client numbers over the years our Client Support Centre was created to ease the load of communication for our sites and provide a more efficient service for our clients.

​Our Client Support Centre offers our clients an easier way to access vets and nurses’ services by telephone and video consultations.

​The support centre is situated in our main office in Woodford, where you will work onsite with a team of 13 support colleagues to help lead and support in the day-to-day operational running.

The position is for 40 hours per week within normal office hours, and there are no weekend or bank holiday requirements.

As Client Support Centre (CSC) Manager some of your duties will include:

– Lead the CSC department including performance management- Clinical support to CSC team- Line manager support to CSC supervisor and Senior Call Handler- Manage HR matters for the CSC team- Maintain relationships with Regional Managers, Head Vets and branch colleagues- Monitor KPIs for phone data and chat data across the company- Monitor individual KPIs for Call Handlers- Develop the Central Dispensary trial in liaison with Managing Director and Clinical Director- Develop and manage individual projects and work streams within the CSC department- Clinical support branch staff on an ad hoc basisThis role would be ideal for a vet who is looking to delve into a new environment and step away from hands on clinical work for a fixed term period, but is able to utilise their invaluable clinical knowledge, and strong communication and leadership skills.

VA589 – Registered Veterinary Nurse

Nestled in the home of tennis is our 24-hour GP hospital in Wimbledon, and they are looking for an RVN to join and complete their large hospital team. Roles here do not come up often, so snap up this “ace” opportunity while you can.

About your new role!

Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital offers a wide caseload of routine procedures, emergency and critical care, as it not only has its own first opinion client base, but also supports the surrounding Goddard practices for internal referral cases that require hospital expertise.

​The hospital also provides specialist work with an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, dermatologist, and physiotherapist.

This is a full-time RVN position including a 1:4 weekend rotation with time off in lieu ensuring you are not working long stretches, and 1-2 bank holidays per year. There are NO on-call requirements for this position.

​Your rota is varied, allowing you to delve into all areas of hospital nursing ranging from ward, theatre and consults.

As a hospital RVN some of your duties will include:– Carry out acting weekend Charge Nurse duties, as directed.- Advise clients of post-operative discharge instructions, verbally and with print-outs and appropriate literature as directed. Ensure that correct medications are provided.- Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding fees, treatment options or anything related to patient care.- Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.- Carry out duties in accordance with shift guidance notes.- Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.- Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre, with inpatient examinations and procedures and during consultations, as and when required.- Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, using standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all areas.

VA590 – Veterinary Surgeon

Welcome to Wanstead Hospital! We are looking for two well-rounded and experienced GP vets who thrive in a hospital environment and want to be part of the largest ECC provider in London.

Having prior experience in ECC and ultrasonography would be ideal for this position due to the high caseload.

About your new role!

​Wanstead are looking for TWO veterinary surgeons, one full-time and one 3-days per week who are wanting to grab the opportunity to step into our largest hospital in the group, based in East London.

If you were looking for an additional day, we would be happy to explore branch gaps within the region.

​The team are looking for competent GP vets who can jump straight in with routine surgeries, including bitch spays and dentals, and be able to confidently manage emergency cases. With a high imaging caseload this would be the perfect role for a GP vet with a passion for diagnostic imaging, to either utilise their existing skills, or develop on their area of interest.

As a GP hospital vet some of your duties will include:• Ensure a high and improving standard of evidence-based clinical care at the Hospital.• Participate in the clinical consulting, medical and surgical rota for Hospital GP vets.• Ensure compliance with RCVS Codes of Conduct, Practice Standards and relevant medicines regulation within the Hospital.• Ability to work independently while recognising limitations and seeking support when required• Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols.• Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.• Investigate cases fully and appropriately, using diagnostic aids such as radiography and blood testing.• Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence• Confident communicator with a client-centred approach.• Good clinical reasoning and time-management skills.• Foster a culture of excellent working relationships within the Hospital and be responsible for the achievement of high morale and a strong team spirit.

Your rota will be on a 6 weekly rotational basis made up of an average of 40 hours per week (30-hours for part-time) inclusive of your 1:3 Saturday and 1:6 Sunday weekend rotation. This will enable you to work within all departments of the hospital, ranging across consulting, surgery, ward and ECC. You will be rota ‘d to up to 2 bank holidays per year and be included in the last resort on-call rotation.

​Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service to our clients and local network of 20 branches and works to the highest clinical standards. No day or caseload is the same with such a wide pool of clients and internal referrals coming through the doors.

​There is state of the art diagnostic support, with a CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.

You will be working alongside a large collaborative team consisting of approximately 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a large front of house team who are integral in maintaining excellent client care.

​You are fully supported by an established management structure including senior GP and internal medic vets, senior RVN’s, 2 deputy head nurses, head nurse, head vet and hospital manager.

​Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of urban Essex but is close enough to rural life for that countryside relief. Transport links into London do not get better than a short walk to a Central Line tube station! It is a beautiful area of London with lots of green space including the local Bluebell Woods. It also has a plethora of independent restaurants, bakeries, pubs and coffee houses to keep you busy and refreshed in your time off!

Please be aware there is no on-site parking available and public transport is advised, but with stations and bus stops a stone’s throw away you have plenty of choice.
