VA593 – Registered Veterinary Nurse

Mandeville Hospital in Northolt is our second largest in the group, and this beautifully modern well-established 24-hour site is looking for an additional RVN to join the hospital day team. RVN positions do not come up often in Mandeville Hospital as they have a very established team, so if you want it…move quickly!

About your new role!

This role could suit an RVN or soon to qualify student who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment, enjoys all areas of hospital nursing and prides themselves in providing the highest standard of patient care. It could also suit an RVN who has been used to a busy branch environment and wants to dip their toe into hospital life.

This is a full-time Monday to Friday position, including a 1:5 weekend rotation with TOIL and up to 2 bank holidays per year.

There are no on-call requirements for this position.

As a hospital RVN you will also help guide trainee nurses in their journey’s to becoming RVNs, and ensure the high clinical standards in consult, ward and theatre are being maintained, as well as being able to develop your own skills for future progression.

As well as the large clinical team around you, and integral front of house team for client care support, you will be fully supported by the hospital’s nursing team, deputy head nurse, head nurse, head vet and hospital manager.

As a hospital RVN some of your duties will include:

– Carry out acting weekend Charge Nurse duties, as directed.- Advise clients of post-operative discharge instructions, verbally and with print-outs and appropriate literature as directed. Ensure that correct medications are provided.- Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding fees, treatment options or anything related to patient care.- Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.- Carry out duties in accordance with shift guidance notes.- Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.- Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre, with inpatient examinations and procedures and during consultations, as and when required.- Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment – Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness, using standard operating procedures (SOPs) in all areas.Mandeville Veterinary Hospital and its surrounding clinics provide an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service and work to the highest clinical standards. The location of Mandeville itself could not be more ideal for those relying on public transport, as Northolt station on the Central Line is a mere 6-minute walk away. VA592 – Veterinary Receptionist

Our veterinary reception front of house team are an integral part of the hospital, because they are first port of call to our clients, and it is of the upmost importance they are being given five-star service and care.

We are looking for a client-focused experienced receptionist to join our invaluable front of house team at Wanstead 24-hour Veterinary Hospital, on a full-time basis.

About your new role!

We want to ensure that while our clinical team support the patients’ needs, we are also able to offer an engaging and friendly welcome to clients. This involves providing effective communications internally and organising our diary so that we can provide the best advice and accurate information to our clients.

This full-time role consists of 4×10 hour shifts. The earliest shift starting at 8am, and the latest shift up to 10.30pm plus a 2:4 weekend rotation with TOIL (reducing to 1:3 in the near future). You will be rota ‘d to 3 bank holidays per year (including one in the festive period). Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required.

As a veterinary receptionist, some of your duties will include:– Liaise with key hospital personnel to communicate any delays in consultation start times. – Book referral appointments using SOPs and ensure relevant information sheets are sent to clients prior to the consultation. – Offer nurse clinics to clients, where required. Clients should have the opportunity to visit for advice on pet health and welfare, to include weight, dental checks and six-monthly ProActive Pets checks. – Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding fees or anything related to patient care. – Place client food orders as requested and reserve when delivered. Put away the reception food order if required to do so. – Exercise debt control measures, as directed. – Exercise care in the handling of payments and in all financial management generally. In particular cashing up must be accurately completed. – Process insurance claim forms, if required to do so, in an accurate and timely fashion incorporating full use of the Zeus software. – Prepare the weekly banking, if required to do so, in a secure, accurate and timely fashion. Report shortages and overs to senior personnel, as directed. As well as a high level of face-to-face client care, there is also a large amount of phone and written communication to our clients, and these methods of communication must be treated equally as professionally.

We are ideally seeking candidates with previous reception responsibilities within a veterinary or healthcare setting to join our team and can work early and late shifts. We do ask for a certain level of flexibly in the role, due to the nature of the profession.

You would need to be computer literate although training will be provided, but more importantly we are looking for friendly, confident, empathetic individuals who will be proud to make the reception area, their areas of responsibility and for individuals with a passion for animal welfare and who love being a pivotal part of a large vibrant team.

The roles involve a high level of face-to-face contact with our clients, so you must have the confidence, empathy, and experience to provide the standard of care and the personal touch we expect for our clients and be able to work in a high-pressure environment.

VA591 – Fixed Term Client Support Centre Manager

Our fabulous Client Support Centre manager will be off on her parenting adventure in the summer, creating a 12–18 month fixed term maternity cover position for a veterinary surgeon looking to take the reins of our veterinary Client Support Centre.

About the role

We have 49 sites across London including 3 hospitals, and with growing client numbers over the years our Client Support Centre was created to ease the load of communication for our sites and provide a more efficient service for our clients.

Our Client Support Centre offers our clients an easier way to access vets and nurses’ services by telephone and video consultations.

The support centre is situated in our main office in Woodford, where you will work onsite with a team of 13 support colleagues to help lead and support in the day-to-day operational running.

The position is for 40 hours per week within normal office hours, and there are no weekend or bank holiday requirements.

As Client Support Centre (CSC) Manager some of your duties will include:

– Lead the CSC department including performance management- Clinical support to CSC team- Line manager support to CSC supervisor and Senior Call Handler- Manage HR matters for the CSC team- Maintain relationships with Regional Managers, Head Vets and branch colleagues- Monitor KPIs for phone data and chat data across the company- Monitor individual KPIs for Call Handlers- Develop the Central Dispensary trial in liaison with Managing Director and Clinical Director- Develop and manage individual projects and work streams within the CSC department- Clinical support branch staff on an ad hoc basisThis role would be ideal for a vet who is looking to delve into a new environment and step away from hands on clinical work for a fixed term period, but is able to utilise their invaluable clinical knowledge, and strong communication and leadership skills.

VA589 – Registered Veterinary Nurse

Nestled in the home of tennis is our 24-hour GP hospital in Wimbledon, and they are looking for an RVN to join and complete their large hospital team. Roles here do not come up often, so snap up this “ace” opportunity while you can.

About your new role!

Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital offers a wide caseload of routine procedures, emergency and critical care, as it not only has its own first opinion client base, but also supports the surrounding Goddard practices for internal referral cases that require hospital expertise.

The hospital also provides specialist work with an orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeon, dermatologist, and physiotherapist.

This is a full-time RVN position including a 1:4 weekend rotation with time off in lieu ensuring you are not working long stretches, and 1-2 bank holidays per year. There are NO on-call requirements for this position.

VA590 – Veterinary Surgeon

Welcome to Wanstead Hospital! We are looking for two well-rounded and experienced GP vets who thrive in a hospital environment and want to be part of the largest ECC provider in London.

Having prior experience in ECC and ultrasonography would be ideal for this position due to the high caseload.

About your new role!

Wanstead are looking for TWO veterinary surgeons, one full-time and one 3-days per week who are wanting to grab the opportunity to step into our largest hospital in the group, based in East London.

If you were looking for an additional day, we would be happy to explore branch gaps within the region.

The team are looking for competent GP vets who can jump straight in with routine surgeries, including bitch spays and dentals, and be able to confidently manage emergency cases. With a high imaging caseload this would be the perfect role for a GP vet with a passion for diagnostic imaging, to either utilise their existing skills, or develop on their area of interest.

As a GP hospital vet some of your duties will include:• Ensure a high and improving standard of evidence-based clinical care at the Hospital.• Participate in the clinical consulting, medical and surgical rota for Hospital GP vets.• Ensure compliance with RCVS Codes of Conduct, Practice Standards and relevant medicines regulation within the Hospital.• Ability to work independently while recognising limitations and seeking support when required• Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols.• Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.• Investigate cases fully and appropriately, using diagnostic aids such as radiography and blood testing.• Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence• Confident communicator with a client-centred approach.• Good clinical reasoning and time-management skills.• Foster a culture of excellent working relationships within the Hospital and be responsible for the achievement of high morale and a strong team spirit.

Your rota will be on a 6 weekly rotational basis made up of an average of 40 hours per week (30-hours for part-time) inclusive of your 1:3 Saturday and 1:6 Sunday weekend rotation. This will enable you to work within all departments of the hospital, ranging across consulting, surgery, ward and ECC. You will be rota ‘d to up to 2 bank holidays per year and be included in the last resort on-call rotation.

Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service to our clients and local network of 20 branches and works to the highest clinical standards. No day or caseload is the same with such a wide pool of clients and internal referrals coming through the doors.

There is state of the art diagnostic support, with a CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.

You will be working alongside a large collaborative team consisting of approximately 25 vets, 27 RVNs, 14 SVNs, 7 VCAs and a large front of house team who are integral in maintaining excellent client care.

You are fully supported by an established management structure including senior GP and internal medic vets, senior RVN’s, 2 deputy head nurses, head nurse, head vet and hospital manager.

Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of urban Essex but is close enough to rural life for that countryside relief. Transport links into London do not get better than a short walk to a Central Line tube station! It is a beautiful area of London with lots of green space including the local Bluebell Woods. It also has a plethora of independent restaurants, bakeries, pubs and coffee houses to keep you busy and refreshed in your time off!

Please be aware there is no on-site parking available and public transport is advised, but with stations and bus stops a stone’s throw away you have plenty of choice.
