VA499 – Part-time Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for a multi-faceted colleague to join our maintenance team, supporting our veterinary practice’s in the Southwest London/Surrey region on a 3-day week basis.

About your new role!Our maintenance team play an integral part in the running of our practices and are responsible for all aspects of keeping our premises upheld to the highest standards and safety.- General maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our veterinary practices, internally and externally.- Detecting and reporting any defects or damage.- Completing all tasks as delegated in a timely manner.- Complying with the industry standards and safety regulations of working.- To always observe the company’s health and safety policy on site and report any concerns.- To liaise with external Contractors.– Hours of work are 7.30am to 3.30pm 3 days a week between Monday to Friday (24hours) – occasional overtime may be required to finish a job.

Who we are looking for– Clean driving licence is essential (vehicle will be provided)- Multi-skilled maintenance person.  – Experience in general carpentry, plastering, painting & decorating.- Must hold at least one trade skill qualification.- Plumbing experience would be an advantage, but not essential.- Experience installing kitchens and bathrooms is preferred.- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.- Should be a good team worker and have the ability to coordinate work with fellow workers.- Must possess excellent communication skills- Being an animal lover would help!

About your new role!

​On the outskirts of leafy Essex, and within a 10-minute drive of bustling Wanstead is our first opinion Barking practice, where we are looking for an RVN with a leadership head to complete the team on a 3-day week basis.

Your rota involves Wednesdays (10 hours) Thursdays (8 hours) and Fridays (10 hours), plus a 1:4 Saturday afternoon and 1:10 Wanstead Hospital Sunday rotation that are included within your average 29.45 hours per week. You will be rota ‘d to 1 bank holiday per year.This is a sole RVN position, but you have fantastic trainee support colleagues and a permanent vet to assist you in the day to day running of the practice. As well as the practice accountabilities, you will also help support our student as a clinical mentor.
