About your new role!

​In the heart of one of London’s best kept secret neighbourhoods in South London is our Kennington practice that has gone from strength to strength over the years, and they are looking for an additional RVN to help support their busy GP caseload, although our senior vet is a keen surgeon!

Kennington are looking for an RVN who can multitask and communicate efficiently, as the practice spans over 2 floors…you will definitely get your daily steps in here!

This is a full-time 4-day week position, which includes a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Sunday rotation at Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon, plus 1 bank holiday per year in Stone Lion Hospital.

There are no on-call requirements for this role.

As part of your induction, you will spend a day with the hospital team, so you are ready for your first Sunday shift.

​You will be fully supported by a senior vet, associate vet, senior RVN, incredible trainee nurses, and a fantastic regional manager.

​Your clients and patients are supported by Stone Lion 24-hour Hospital who provide integral OOH support when Kennington is closed, or if they need to be referred for more advanced treatment.

VA523 – Veterinary Receptionist

We are looking for a client-focused experienced receptionist to join our team at New Addington and play an integral part of our clients’ journey.About your new role!We want to ensure that while our clinical team support the patients’ needs, we are also able to provide a warm and efficient visit for our clients. This involves providing effective communications internally and support in organising our diary so that we can provide the best advice and accurate information to our clients.The 35.7 hourly week role consists of 8.5 hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and includes a  1:5 Saturday rotation working between New Addington and Croydon.As well as a high level of face-to-face client care, there is also a large amount of phone and written communication to our clients, and these methods of communication must be treated as equally as professionally.You will also be responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks such as managing the email inbox, paperwork filing, daily banking and liaising with insurance companies.Our new colleague will ideally have previous reception responsibilities within a veterinary or healthcare setting.You would need to be computer literate although training will be given, but more importantly we are looking for a friendly, confident, empathetic individual who will be proud to make the reception area their responsibility.New Addington itself is nestled within the heart of a long standing community, with regular clients who have been visiting for years, so you will build rapport quickly!Although a small team, our RVN has been with the practice for years, as well as a highly experienced student nurse and part-time veterinary surgeon.If you live locally and drive, there is onsite parking available. VA363 – Veterinary Care Support Apprentice

We are looking for integral pieces of our veterinary team puzzle, in the shape of veterinary care support apprentices’ to join our teams in a number of our sites this Autumn.

The salary for the Level 2 Veterinary Care Support apprentice position is £10 per hour for the first 12 months of employment, and will then increase the national living wage.

*To be considered for this apprenticeship role you do not require specific qualifications (although it would be advantageous having completed work experience or volunteering in the veterinary sector, to have an idea of the role/industry).*

If you wished to then progress onto our Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing, you would require English and Maths GCSEs grade C/4 and above or equivalent. If you require Maths and English this can be worked on alongside your Level 2 apprenticeship.

Our veterinary care support (VCS) role is an ideal stepping stone for those who see themselves in the veterinary care environment, with this qualification providing the key skills. Furthermore, this is a stepping stone for those looking for that next training step working ever closer to becoming a registered veterinary nurse.

​​The VCS positions are full-time consisting of 40 hours per week, including your weekly college day and a regular weekend rotation. Prior animal care and client care experience is preferred but not essential, but would be advantageous. If you can demonstrate a passion for learning, teamwork, and providing the highest standard of patient and client care you will flourish.

The role is varied, involving and high level of client care which includes reception duties, the cleaning and upkeep of the practice and its equipment/facilities, and of course the hands-on patient care. You may be required to work across different branches within commutable distance, including the hospital sites.

This is an intense industry and profession that not only has physical challenges, but also emotional, and our veterinary colleagues must be able to adapt to this high pressured and unpredictable environment.
