About your new role!
Ewell is a beautifully designed clinic with an open span prep area, walk in kennels and large reception area for your clients.
Both roles offer flexibility on how the rota may look and include a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Hospital Sunday rotation. You will be rota 'd to 1 bank holiday per year in Stone Lion Hospital.
As well as digital and dental x-ray, there are also ultrasound facilities on site.
Ewell is a busy GP practice with a growing caseload, and we are recruiting for additional colleagues to help support our senior vet and large client base. Working alongside you is an experienced senior RVN, RVN’s and trainee nurses.
As associate vets, you will be involved in the day-to-day GP caseload including consults and routine surgeries. As Ewell has a large client base, you would need to be competent in triaging emergencies that may arise.
As a branch vet some of your duties will include:
- Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols.
- Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and limitation of overnight care.
- Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.
- Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure that pets’ histories are accurate comprehensive and useful to colleagues.
- Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, when there is an inability to undertake a case for whatever reason.
- Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment
You will be fully supported by our experienced regional manager, as well as a regional head vet for clinical management support you may need.
You will also be supported by the Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon to refer more complex cases, and their own rotating night team provides your patients with invaluable OOH care.
The practice itself has multiple local train stations and is within easy reach of desirable parts of London such as Richmond and Wimbledon.

The salary band for this role is £45,000 to £61,000 FTE depending on prior experience and allowing room for growth in the role.
