Welcome to Wanstead! Our impressive flagship 24-hour hospital has the perfect opportunity for an experienced RVN who is either looking to dip their toe into night life, or a seasoned locum night RVN looking for some stability for a year, in a fixed term 12-month maternity Night RVN position.
About your role!
This 12-month fixed term contract night role involves a rotation of 4 nights on 8 nights off (7.30pm to 8.30am) plus an additional 18 shifts per year totalling a contracted average of 35 hours per week.
You will be working alongside another permanent RVN, a student or VCA, and a permanent night vet giving you ample support for those busy periods.
On shift you will be responsible for conducting ward rounds, taking over-night calls and triaging emergencies, assisting in emergency surgery, and completing general night tasks including scaling the heights of mount laundry!
Wanstead Veterinary Hospital provides an excellent first opinion, emergency, critical care, and referral service to our clients and local network of 20 branches and work to the highest clinical standards, resulting in a large pool of clients feeding into Wanstead.
There is state of the art diagnostic support at Wanstead, with a new CT scanner, a commercial laboratory, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery on-site throughout the week.
Wanstead itself is on the outskirts of Essex but has quick and direct transport links that take you straight into all areas of London, with Snaresbrook and Wanstead tube stations being a brisk 10-minute walk away.

The salary band for our night RVN role is £33,250 to £39,375 (£38,000 to £45,000 FTE) depending on prior experience.
