Located around 2 miles north of Harrow, Harrow Weald combines leafy suburbia with the beautiful Harrow Weald Common, giving you plenty of green space without losing the convenience of being close to London.

We're looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team on a part-time basis, working an average of 20 hours per week and either 1:3 or 1:4 Branch Saturday and 1:8 Mandeville (Northolt) Hospital Sunday.

There is NO ON-CALL for this role and you would be required to work up to 2 bank holidays per year.

About your new role!

Harrow Weald is a well-established practice serving the local community, with a varied caseload and a team who are passionate about providing a high standard of patient and client care.

You'll have the opportunity to get involved in all the usual elements of  nursing, from assisting in theatre and supporting consultations through to inpatient care, anaesthesia and making sure our patients are comfortable and well looked after.

We're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes pride in their nursing and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

You'll be supported by an experienced team, alongside our wider Goddard network, giving you plenty of people to turn to for advice, support and the occasional "have you seen this before?" moment.

As a branch RVN, some of your duties will include:

- Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.

- Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required.

- Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.

- Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.

- Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.

- Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.

- Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.

- Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with suppliers as required.

- Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.

- Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets.

- Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

Our RVN salary band is £32,000 to £36,000 (Based on 40 hours FTE per week), depending on experience and allowing room for growth and development within the role.

For this 20-hour-per-week position, the salary will be pro rata.
