Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Code: VA601

Location: Tottenham

In the heart of North London next to the River Lea is our incredibly popular first opinion Tottenham practice, and they are looking for an additional RVN to join the first opinion GP team on a full-time basis.

About your new role!

Tottenham’s popularity is increasing by the day, creating the need for an additional RVN to help support their existing team including senior RVN, trainee nurse colleagues and senior vet.

You will not be bored at Tottenham with its busy caseload and large client base, and the practice has a great reputation within the group of having an amazing team dynamic and rallying together on those more challenging days, but don’t take my word for it:

"They have been an absolute delight to work with. You have got a good team there! I will be sad to say goodbye on my last day".

This position is full-time Monday to Friday and includes a 1:4 Saturday morning and 1:10 Sunday rotation at Wanstead Hospital, plus 1 bank holiday per year. There are NO on-call requirements for this position.

As a branch RVN some of your duties will include:

- Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.
- Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required.
- Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.
- Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.
- Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.
- Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with our suppliers to required levels as necessary.
- Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.
- Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets, in person, by email and over the telephone.
- Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor

This role could be ideal for a newly qualified RVN due to the support provided by your senior RVN and support team. You will also be fully supported by an incredibly experienced regional manager, whose support is invaluable to her branches in the region.

If any of your patients require more complex surgeries or OOH care they will be referred to our flagship 24-hour hospital in Wanstead.

Caseload at Tottenham is high with a very loyal client base, the team have worked hard to create strong bonds and are rightfully proud of this.

The practice itself is perfectly situated if you want to travel into the hustle and bustle of central London, being just a 5-minute walk from Bruce Grove station that takes you straight into London Liverpool Street, or a 20-minute walk from Tottenham Hale station.

If however you may want to get away from the city, Tottenham is within easy reach of Epping Forest, and popular Essex villages and towns with an array of pubs and restaurants.

Now let’s get to the nitty gritty, here is what we offer you:
