Senior Management

Principal Philip Goddard

Philip qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1986 and continued at the RVC as Medicine Houseman.  He then worked as a locum and subsequently for the PDSA before joining private practice.  In 1989-90 Philip took a year out of practice to successfully complete a one-year full time Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) at Cranfield University.

Philip was a Council member of the British Veterinary Hospital Association (BVHA) from 1992-98 and was President in 1996-7, a Council member of the British Veterinary Association (BVA) in 1996-1997 as the representative for BVHA and in 2005-2006 for the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons (SPVS).  Philip was also a Council member of SPVS from 1995-2010 and was Honorary Secretary from 1998-2001 and President in 2005-2006.  He has also been an RCVS Hospital Inspector and a SPVS representative to the Practice Standards Group and helped revise the (2010) Practice Standards.

General Manager Jeremy Robinson

Jeremy joined the practice in 1986 after a successful management career working in London hotels and at the London Business School and Institute of Chartered Accountants. The Goddard Group comprised the Wanstead Veterinary Hospital and eleven branches when Jeremy joined the practice and so he has overseen a large expansion in his time of service.

Jeremy is a member of a local chamber choir and enjoys playing golf and watching virtually all sports on TV, particularly football from White Hart Lane.


Clinical Director & Head Vet Wanstead Veterinary Hospital Tom Flynn

Tom graduated from University College Dublin and worked in Ireland for four years before coming to the UK. Tom joined the Wanstead Hospital team in 1991 and was promoted to Clinical Director for the Group in 1997. Tom oversees the running of the Hospital and also plays an important practice-wide clinical role.


Group Financial Controller Paul Ferincz

Paul graduated from the University of East London and became a fully qualified accountant in 2004 having spent several years in the film industry and corporate outsourcing.

Paul hails from the North East and is a 'self confessed' sports couch potato, although you may catch sight of him at Newmarket or Goodwood races. Paul has been learning Chinese for three years and keeps active by running and cycling in and around the Waltham Forest area.


Head of Operations Mark Gill

Mark graduated as a vet from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and started his career as a small animal practitioner in Warwickshire.  In 2008 he joined the Goddard Group’s management team, working as Regional Manager from 2009 – 2016.  Mark obtained a Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management from the CMI in 2011, and a MBA from Imperial College in 2016.  Mark is Head of Operations for the Group, and has a particular interest in organisational strategy.

Out of work Mark is kept busy by his young family and two cats, occasionally having the opportunity to indulge his interest in spirits and cocktails

Wanstead East Region

Regional Manager Philippa Davis

Philippa joined the practice in 1999 and has seen it develop over the years.  Originally from a veterinary nursing and management background within an equine practice, Phillipa now manages ten branches associated with the Wanstead Hospital as well as the Hydrotherapy Centre in Chingford.  With an interest in management Philippa achieved her Certificate in 2009.

Philippa lives with her husband and son and a rescue cat called Dillon.  In her spare time she enjoys horse riding and swimming and is involved in many volunteering projects.  Philippa was one of the volunteer Games Makers at the London 2012 Olympics.

Mandeville Region

Head of Region & Head Vet Mandeville Veterinary Hospital  Jeremy Stewart

Jeremy joined the team at the Mandeville Veterinary Hospital in 2000. He qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1991 and prior to joining worked at the RSPCA Harmsworth Hospital for nine years and also obtained a Certificate in Veterinary Radiology.  During his time at the Mandeville Veterinary Hospital Jeremy has seen the Region develop from just the Hospital to now including ten branch practices employing over twenty vets.

Jeremy lives with his wife and two young daughters.


Regional Manager Adrian Hayter

Adrian's background was originally in retail management and he has been involved in veterinary practice management since 1999. Adrian is Practice Manager for the hospital and the ten branches in the region. He lives with his wife and a menagerie of waifs and strays including Mac a Border collie, five cats, and two tortoises one of which is blind.


Stone Lion Region

Head of Region & Head Vet Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital  Julie Johnson

Julie qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1992 and joined Stone Lion in April 2015, having spent over 20 years as a small animal vet in both the private and charity sectors.  She joins Goddard from the RSPCA, where she was Hospital Director of their London hospitals.  Julie is particularly interested in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.  She lives in Putney with her husband and son, Moffat the Border Collie cross and a small tabby cat named Malinka. 


Stone Lion North Region

Regional Manager Fiona Stephens

Fiona qualified as a vet from Bristol University in 1996.  She spent 18 years in small animal practice during which time she completed a GP Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging before moving into management in 2015.  Fiona joined the Goddard Group in 2016.


Stone Lion South Region

Regional Manager Marion Chapman 

Marion has many years of experience in the veterinary marketplace. She started her career qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse in a busy small animal practice and moved on to work in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. This was followed by three years with a large pet food manufacturer, during which time she gave presentations at various marketing seminars and ran communication skills workshops.

After working for one of the main veterinary wholesalers and at the same time studying for her marketing exams and obtaining her Certificate in Marketing, Marion then worked for six years as a Regional Manager at GVG before deciding to work closer to home and becoming Practice Manager at Elands Veterinary Clinic.  Marion returned to the Goddard Group in 2014.

Marion served as a council member for the VPMA for three years, was a VPMA regional organiser arranging meetings for veterinary surgeons and other practice managers, has been a speaker at both the BVNA congress and the London Vet Show and has also been co-editor and one of the authors of the BSAVA Manual of Small Animal Practice Management and Development - a daily reference book sold internationally, for veterinary surgeons and managers in practice.

Marion loves spending time with her horses Frisbee and Winston and her JRT Nellie who she trains in dog agility. She also has two rescue cats Henry and Gertie.



Chingford Kennels Manager Matthew Cornell

Matt is a lifelong dog lover and joined Chingford Kennels as Kennels Manager in May 2005. He manages all aspects of the kennels including Boarding, Quarantine, the pet cemetery near Waltham Abbey and Hydrotherapy.

As well as being a keen dog owner Matt enjoys the cinema, running marathons, and is the proud father of twin boys.



Training Manager Helen Farrant

Helen has been training student Veterinary Nurses and support staff at the Goddard Veterinary Group since 2003. Helen is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has worked in a variety of practices and a veterinary nursing college prior to joining GVG. Helen is an Associate Editor of the VNJ (Veterinary Nursing Journal) and an examiner for Veterinary Nursing practical exams  An experienced lecturer who holds the Certificate in Education, Helen is based at the Wanstead Hospital.

Helen lives with her husband and son and their rescued pets: four cats called Pippin, Yoda, Fluffy Womble and Stinky Spud.



IT Manager Sharon Rolfe

Sharon qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in South Africa and moved to the UK in 1995 to pursue her career as a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. She held several Head Nurse positions at various clinics in London before taking over as Head Nurse/Hospital Manager at the Elizabeth Street Veterinary Clinic. During this time she completed her Diploma in Project Management through the Chartered Management Institute. Since 2007 Sharon has been overseeing the development and implementation of the IT infrastructure and a bespoke practice management system which is currently being installed in our branches.

Sharon's hobbies include travelling, mountain biking and swimming
