Information for Vets

How to refer a patient

Please use our online referral request form or call the hospital to arrange referral

Wanstead Veterinary Hospital Tel: 020 8989 7744

Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital Te:l 020 8946 4228

Mandeville Veterinary Hospital Tel: 020 8845 567.

If you choose to call then a referral form for completion will be sent to the referring vet.  Please return this along with a covering letter to complete the referral.

We will then call the client to book them in for a convenient time with one of our specialists and we will inform you when this has been done. The majority of patients referred to ophthalmology, dermatology, neurology or seen for re-examinations are seen on a day patient basis.

Please note we are only able to accept referrals during normal weekday office hours.

CT Scanning & Ultrasound

The scanning service is run by Andrew Holloway and he offers a full CT (Computed Tomography) scanner and Ultrasound Scanning service.  Andrew is  a European Specialist in Diagnostic imaging which means you will get results in the quickest possible time.

Further information on our CT Scanning and Ultrasound service can be downloaded here.

The ophthalmology service is run by Sally Turner and accepts cases in all areas of ophthalmology, both medical and surgical. Many clients can be seen as outpatients although some require hospitalisation following certain surgical procedures. On site facilities include ocular ultrasonography, electroretinography, an operating microscope, a phaco-emulsification machine, ophthalmic laser and cryotherapy. Thus we provide a full surgical referral service including cataract surgery with lens replacements where appropriate

Sally is also a member of the BVA/KC/ISDS eye panel and as such can issue eye Certificates for breeding purposes under the scheme. Her particular interests include eyelid reconstruction surgery, feline corneal disease, cataract surgery and inherited ocular disease.

Our orthopaedic service is run by Michael Hamilton whose particular clinical interests include arthroscopy, the management of spinal disease and complete fracture fixation.  Michael will see cases at the Stone Lion Veterinary Hospital and the Mandeville Veterinary Hospital.

The dermatology service is run by Ewan Ferguson. With a particular interest in canine atopy, immunotherapy, and endocrinology, Ewan also provides a comprehensive service for all aspects of canine and feline dermatology.
