VA148 – Veterinary Surgeon – Acton

Acton is a long established and hugely successful branch in a popular residential area of London. It is situated in an old bank and the practice has lots of space and unique cat kennels built in the old vault! The clinic has all the usual toys including a shiny new dental x-ray. Acton is also part of the ISFM cat friendly scheme and is proud to be involved with lots of work for the Cats Protection Charity.

The salary is in the region of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum for a full-time role and dependent on experience. The role involves 1 in 3 Saturdays in branch and 1 in 8 Sundays and 2 bank holidays per annum at our Mandeville Veterinary Hospital.

In addition, we offer a generous CPD allowance and up to 5 CPD days per annum (benefits pro-rata for part-time roles). We see CPD as an investment in the individual, as well as for the practice, and are keen to support study for certificate qualifications.

If you can demonstrate commitment to working to the highest clinical standards, dedication to delivering excellent client care and a desire to help and support both clients and colleagues, then we’d love to hear from you.

We have a great benefits package including:

– Simply Health, which provides cashback/refunds on many routine medical costs such as dental care, physiotherapy, optician, chiropractic fees, and more.
– 24hr Employee Assistance Programme.
– Generous shopping/leisure discounts (never pay full price in all the major shops and cinemas again!)
– Cycle to work scheme.
– Great colleague pet discount scheme.
– Membership allowance for BVA, BSAVA or SPVS.
– Colleague Introduction incentive.
– Increasing holiday allowance with length of service.

In 2022, we are celebrating our 70th anniversary and now have 44 branches, three hospitals and our own nurse training college. We value all of our colleagues and our forward-looking approach means we have introduced a Colleague Forum to listen to our peers’ views, as well as monthly Town Hall meetings communicating real time updates and taking polls with live Q&As to ensure we’re making the right, collaborative decisions for our people. All our senior managers are Mental Health First Aid trained and we offer Wellness plans for all new starters.

We have a great reputation for looking after our employees and over 20% of our team have been with us 10 years or more.
