VA112 – Veterinary Care Assistant, Thamesmead, Southeast London

A new opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Nursing Assistant at our recently refurbished Thamesmead practice. Our branch is growing all the time and we are expanding our team to ensure we can fully support the needs of our clients and their pets.

Working with our team of Vets, Nurses and Student Nurses, no two days will be the same as we see our patient numbers increasing in addition to our existing client base.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate previous excellent and relevant client care experience. The role involves a high level of contact directly communicating with our clients via in person visits, e-mail, phone and virtually and we will be looking for enthusiasm and energy, self-confidence, empathy, and listening skills in any applicant to provide the standard of care and the personal touch we expect for our valued clients.

This position could be well suited to a candidate looking to gain a formal qualification as a Veterinary Care Assistant which could be provided through our own training college. The salary for this role is £6.836 to £9.50 per hour.

This is a hands-on role in a busy branch so the ideal candidate will be pivotal part of an established team, you will often be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets. We also value flexibility, adaptability, a proactive approach, and team work to ensure the branch can work efficiently. You will also be involved in practical tasks such as orders and ensuring the practice cleanliness is kept in good order. The role also requires a share of administration tasks and record keeping which require an organised, methodical approach and where accuracy is important along with basic computer skills.

Previous experience within a veterinary practice or clinical setting is not essential but would be an advantage.

This position is for up to 40 hours per week and includes some Saturday work on a rota.

Thamesmead is a regeneration area is and seeing a large amount of local investment into residential and commercial developments. The new station at Abbey Wood will provide future access into Central London using the Elizabeth Line. The local area is densely populated with retail parks and near to historic Greenwich.
